I hadn't picked up a paintbrush in 17 years. But after a disruptive move from California to Texas a few years ago, I decided to paint a pet portrait for our daughter of her beloved rescue cat, Kona.
Since our family has always celebrated by wearing hats, I put a little party hat on him, and gave him an orange background and a teal blue coat with yellow accents. That painting took me a long time to finish, but shortly after, pretty cool things started happening here! I've always been drawn to a lot of color and contrast, so it was natural for me to use this to develop my version of Contemporary Pet Portraits and Animal Art.
My whimsical yet lifelike paintings are filled with energy, vibrancy and joie de vivre. And Kona? He's in my Gallery! Be sure to say hi...
